EA Sports FC 26 – World’s Game Update Details

EA Sports has detailed The World’s Game update for EA Sports FC 26 and FC Mobile, a major content drop launching on May 28. The centerpiece is a standalone 48-team international tournament mode that begins on June 4, allowing players to lead a nation through a full competition. Although EA does not hold the official FIFA World Cup license, the update includes 53 fully licensed and playable national teams, 41 of which are taking part in the actual World Cup. New venues joining the lineup are Gillette Stadium, BMO Field, and Central Maw—a bespoke stadium designed to evoke the atmosphere of top-tier international football.

      National Teams and Tournament Structure

Among the fully licensed sides are Brazil, England, France, Cabo Verde, and Uzbekistan, along with many others. Two non-licensed teams (Egypt and Japan) feature authentic player rosters, while five generic squads (Algeria, Curaçao, Iran, Iraq, Jordan) fill out the tournament. EA noted that inclusion depends on licensing rights and compliance with applicable laws. The tournament format consists of three group-stage matches per team; the top two from each group plus the eight best third-placed sides advance to a round of 32, followed by standard knockout rounds leading to the final.

      Ultimate Team Highlights

Ultimate Team receives a dedicated Event Hub and Festival of Football campaigns. Players who log in between June 5 and July 24 will earn a 93 OVR Festival of Football ICON Pelé and three ‘Choose Your Journey’ Evolutions. Over 100 new international players will be added throughout the Festival, plus two new ICONs: Rivellino and Mario Kempes. Their special Greats of the Game versions debut on June 19, with Base versions entering packs from June 26.
