Resident Evil Requiem Demo Released – Free Trial Now
Capcom has released a free demo of Resident Evil Requiem, three months after the game’s February launch. The trial version is available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S. It lets players sample a portion of the early stages, though save data cannot be transferred to the full game.

The demo covers Grace Ashcroft’s initial exploration of the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center, which begins with her waking up hanging upside down. It also includes a short playable segment as Leon, lasting until he hands the Requiem gun to Grace. This content gives players a sense of both protagonists and introduces one of the game’s most memorable monsters. The release gives potential buyers a chance to test how the game runs on their system before committing to a purchase.
Game’s Success and Critical Reception
Capcom has sold more than 7 million copies of Resident Evil Requiem, and the company has credited the game’s success with improving its financial outlook for the year. Critically, the survival horror title received strong reviews, including a 9/10 score from IGN. The positive reception extends across both critics and the fan community.
What’s Next: DLC and Fan Speculation
Earlier this month, Capcom added a small roguelike mode called ‘Leon Must Die Forever’ as a free update. While that mode has been well received for a freebie, most fan attention is focused on a larger, full-story DLC expected later this year. Speculation has already begun around new story beats, particularly related to a mysterious piece of jewellery seen on Leon in recent material.
